Earlier this week, the House (and the Senate) voted to provide Title X funding to support women's health clinics. Under the current federal Administration, the title X funded clinics would see their funding revoked, so the Massachusetts Legislature decided to provide $8M in funding for the remainder of FY19 and all of FY20. The funding provides for the continuity of clinical family planning services, education and counseling, physical exams, and sexually transmitted disease testing and cancer screening at Massachusetts organizations across the Commonwealth. Under the Title X program, clinical family planning providers focus on serving clients under 250 per cent of the federal poverty level.
I'm proud to support this bill and to have voted for it!
Next week: my first hearing and probably pictures of the new office
